Citizen's Academy
The Albany Police Department is now accepting applications for the 20th session of the Citizens Police Academy. Nine (9) weekly, two hour sessions. Class times are from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Citizens will be given an opportunity to learn about a variety of topics including: Investigations, Patrol, Gang Awareness, 911 Communications, Forensics, Crime Scene Evidence Collection, Firearms Training, and Identity Theft/Fraud.
In addition, there will be opportunities to experience use of force situations through the firearms simulator, and to ride-along with an officer on patrol.
