The library has an extensive collection of genealogical materials to assist in family history research: county histories; handbooks; federal censuses, including the 1930 census; death registers; deeds; church records; and more. Popular local and state resources include Albany and Southwest Georgia obituaries and Georgia Censuses 1820 – 1930. Located at Central Library, the Genealogy Room is closed on Sunday
