SOGA Tennis Skills

 

Special Olympics tennis gives athletes the opportunity to learn and perform a variety of skills that can be played throughout life. Special Olympics offer individual skills competition to allow athletes to train and compete in basic tennis skills.

 

 

Who: Special Olympic Athletes who are 21 or older with an intellectual disability living in Albany-Dougherty County.

 

What:  Tennis skills include racket bounce, "ups," forehand volley; backhand ground stroke, serve-deuce court, serve-advantage court and alternating ground strike with movement.

 

When: Thursdays from 5:30pm-6:30pm (April 7 - May 19, 2011)

 

Where: Tift Park - 1301 N. Monroe Street, Albany, GA 31701

 

Fee: None. Participants must be registered as an ARPD Special Olympic Athlete to participate and compete.
