Junk Vehicles on Private Property

Junk vehicles are illegal.

No vehicle in a state of disrepair, abandoned, in-operable, uninsured and/or registered and/or discarded vehicles or vehicle can be parked, stored, or left on any private property located in the City of Albany or Dougherty County.  All in-operable vehicles or otherwise in a state of disrepair that are not in enclosed buildings or otherwise stored in accordance with the zoning or other ordinances (for example at a repair facility) are in violation.

The Albany Code Enforcement Department is primarily responsible for junk vehicle enforcement on private property in the City of Albany and unincorporated areas of the Dougherty County.

Free help removing junk vehicles is available.  If you own one or more, you may contact one to the salvage companies listed here to have the vehicle removed at no charge.
