Zoning is the classification of land into districts. The purpose of zoning is to regulate the use of land including the use, placement, size of buildings, yard requirements and parking. The Albany Code Enforcement Department has the lead in enforcing the City of Albany and Dougherty County's zoning ordinance. If you believe there is a violation of the zoning ordinance that is about to occur or has occured, you can report this to the 311 center (call 311 or 229-878-3111) or the Albany Code Enforcement Department at 229-438-3913.
